Hyd, Dec 2024: The 10th Edition QUIZABLED, a zonal level quiz competition for south and east zones of the country, was organized by Knowledge for All, SEVA in ACTION (SiA), Dwar and LTI Mindtree, at Mountport Bhavan in Hyderabad. Eight of the contestants were from Odisha, representing Special School Home and Hope, Rourkela, Intellectual Development School Saintala, Balangir, Bapuji Special School Bargarh, Shuray Special School Cuttack, Parents’ Association Rourkela, and Open Learning Systems, Bhubaneswar.
Children from all these special schools represented themselves at the national level and showcased their skills. The competition was also attended by 8 essayists from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. It was inaugurated by the Director, NIEPWD and attended by the CEO, Telangana, LTIMINDTREE. It was conducted by Surya Narayana.
Sai Surup, a student of the Department of Cerebral Palsy, Open Learning Systems, Bhubaneswar, came second in the autism category, and received a prize of Rs. 8,000 and will participate at the national level (to be held in Bangalore in 2025).
Under the leadership of Odisha Team Chief Coordinator and Senior Special Teacher, Damodar Dash, and under the guidance of Open Learning Systems Chief Executive Officer, Prakash Kumar Rath, the children participated in this competition with the support of guardians, senior teachers, Meghnad Sahu, Sasmita Routray, Manoj Kumar Sahu, and Sek Ali Akbar.
