Bhubaneswar(27/03/2023): Odisha’s renowned civil society organisation, Open Learning Systems (OLS), has been working for the care, protection, education and rehabilitation of the children with disabilities in Odisha since 1987.
It has carved out a niche in this field for itself by rehabilitating more than 5000 children with various disabilities who have been in vulnerable condition.
Apart from rehabilitation of the children with disabilities it has carried out various programmes for the counselling of the parents and conducts consultation with them periodically to alleviate their physical, emotional and psychological condition as the mental wellbeing of the parents is absolutely vital for the development of their wards. OLS organised one such counselling and consultation with around 100 parents of children with autism, cerebral palsy, intellectual disability and multiple disabilities on March 25, 2023 at the premises of Open Learning Systems.
The event and a project Navdarshan for betterment of the lives of people with intellectual disability is being supported by the V-Guard Industries through the Odisha Rising Foundation (ORF). The event was graced by Bratati Harichandan, Director, Social Security & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Department, Government of Odisha and Kasturi Mohapatra, Former Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Government of Odisha, Akhyaya Sagar, CEO, Odisha Rising Foundation.
